How To Clean A Clear Phone Case

Don’t you find it annoying when your new clear phone case starts turning yellow? The good news is that there are a number ways to get your phone case clear again. Follow these quick and easy tips to get rid of the yellow stains and get your phone case nice and clear again.

 

 Cleaning using baking soda

 

You will need a toothbrush and and two dry cloths or towels and also a microfiber cloth, however this is optional. 

  1. First lay your empty phone case on a towel or dry cloth. (We recommend to this first as this method can get messy.)
  1. Sprinkle baking soda all over your case.
  1. Get your toothbrush, wet the head and start scrubbing your phone case; the baking soda will look like paste.
  1. Rinse off the baking soda.
  1. Flip your phone case and repeat the same steps on the other side.
  1. Once done with both sides, dry your phone case with a dry cloth or a microfiber cloth. (Make sure the case is completely dry before fitting back onto your phone.)

 

 Cleaning using rubbing alcohol

 

You will need two dry cloths or two microfiber cloths. Alternatively you can use a spray bottle or alcohol wipes. 

  1. First apply rubbing alcohol to a dry cloth or a microfiber cloth. You can use a spray bottle or just alcohol wipes as an alternative. 
  1. Wipe down your empty phone case with the solution front and back making sure to get all the creases and crevices.
  1. Once the phone case is coated, use a clean and dry cloth or microfiber cloth to remove it.
  1. Once your phone case is completely dry you can fit the case back onto your phone (We recommend letting the phone case air dry for at least one hour.)

Tip: This method also works to disinfect your case.

 

Cleaning using dish soap

 

You will need a toothbrush and a dry cloth or a microfiber cloth.

  1. First add a few drops of dish soap with warm water in the sink to create a soapy solution.
  1. Place your empty phone case into the soapy solution.
  1. Get your toothbrush and start scrubbing the case making sure you work into the corners and charging port hole.
  1. Place your phone back into the soapy solution and repeat the process until the phone case is thoroughly cleaned.
  1. Once cleaned you can now drain the dirty water and start rinsing your phone case under clean water until the soap is removed.
  1. Lastly, use a clean dry cloth or a microfiber cloth to dry your phone case. (We recommend letting the phone case air dry completely before fitting it back onto your phone.)

 

Cleaning using white vinegar

 

You will need a small container or a bowl, tablespoon, dry cloth or microfiber cloth , baking soda and a cup.

  1. First place your empty phone case in an empty bowl or a small container. 
  1. Next sprinkle two tablespoons of baking soda over your phone case.
  1. Slowly pour one cup of white vinegar on top. It will start to fizz at first, this is part of the cleaning process. (If the case isn't fully immersed, add more vinegar as necessary.)
  1. Allow it to soak for a couple of hours.
  1. After allowing it to soak thoroughly rinse your phone case.
  1. Dry your phone case with  a dry cloth or a microfiber cloth. (We recommend letting the phone case air dry completely before fitting it back onto your phone.)

Tip: This method also works to disinfect your case.

 

Cleaning using toothpaste

 

You will need a toothbrush, a dry cloth, a towel and also a microfiber cloth, however this is optional. 

  1. First lay your empty phone case on a towel or a dry cloth. (We recommend to this first as this method can get messy.)
  1. Squirt the toothpaste onto your phone case.
  1. Get your toothbrush, wet the head and start scrubbing the phone case.
  1. Flip the phone case and repeat the same steps on the other side.
  1. Lastly rinse off the toothpaste and dry your phone case with a dry cloth or a microfiber cloth. (We recommend letting the phone case air dry completely before fitting it back onto your phone.)

 

When to Get a New Phone Case?

 

 If you've tried all the above tips and your phone is still not clear. It may be that time to get a new phone case. Especially if you notice any cracks, wear and tear around the edges. Just remember to clean your new case regularly to prevent this from happening again as once a phone case starts to turn yellow in color it can be very hard to reverse.
