Simple, Quick Tips!
Don’t you find it frustrating when your silicone phone case starts getting dirty? Like most things, in order for your case to stay clean, it is recommended to thoroughly clean your case about once a month and disinfect it at least once a week. This is vital as dirt and germs can build up. The good news is it will only take a few minutes of your day. If you are wondering how to clean your silicone phone case follow these quick and easy tips below.
Cleaning your silicone phone case using dish soap
You will need a toothbrush, a bowl or a glass, a soft cloth or a microfiber cloth.
- First remove your silicone phone case from your phone. Carefully stretch a corner of your case to start pulling it off your phone. Continue to lift up the case around the outskirts of the phone until you completely pull the device out. (Try to avoid pulling hard on the silicone case to prevent damage or tearing it up.)
- Next pour warm water into a glass or a bowl or you can run warm water into a sink.
- Add 1 to 2 drops of dish soap into the warm water and start stirring the mixture until you get a soapy solution.
- Dip your toothbrush into the soapy solution. (We recommend soaking the toothbrush in the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes.)
- Remove the toothbrush from the soapy solution and in small circular motions scrub the phone case. Concentrate on the stains or dirt until the case is thoroughly clean.
- Every few seconds dip the toothbrush back into the soapy water to make sure your phone case is thoroughly cleaned.
- Start rinsing your phone case under clean warm water until the soap is removed.
- Thoroughly dry your phone case with a soft cloth or a microfiber cloth before placing your phone case back onto your phone. (We recommend letting the phone case air dry completely before fitting it back onto your phone.)
Cleaning your silicone phone case using baking soda
You will need a toothbrush, a soft cloth or a microfiber cloth and a dry cloth or a towel.
- First lay your empty phone case on a towel or a dry cloth. (We recommend doing this first as this method can get messy.)
- Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda over the stubborn stains or dirt.
- Get your toothbrush, wet the head and start scrubbing your phone case; the baking soda will look like paste.
- Once your phone case is thoroughly cleaned rinse your case under warm water. (We recommend using warm water rather than hot or cold water.)
- Dry your phone case with a soft cloth or a microfiber cloth. (We recommend letting your phone case air dry completely for about an hour before fitting it back onto your phone.)
Tip: You can try drying your phone case with a blow dryer on the lowest setting for a few seconds if you are pressed for time.
Disinfecting your silicone phone case
You will need disinfecting wipes or isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab or a cotton ball.
- First remove your silicone phone case from your phone. It is important to always remove your phone case from your phone to ensure you remove the germs on both the inside and outside of your phone case. Disinfecting only the outside of your phone case is not effective as bacteria can remain between your phone and case.
- Rub a disinfecting wipe all over the inner and exterior surface of your phone case. Allow the case to sit to dry for several minutes. Once your phone case is fully dry, put your silicone phone case back onto your phone. (This is a fast and efficient way to disinfect your phone case if it has come into contact with germs.)
- If you do not have disinfecting wipes apply isopropyl alcohol to a cotton swab or cotton ball. Rub the soaked cotton over the inner and exterior surface of your phone case. (The rubbing alcohol should evaporate within seconds of applying it.)
Tip: This is an effective way to kill lingering bacteria on the case.
Whatever method you choose we recommend disinfecting your phone case at least once a week and thoroughly cleaning your silicone phone case once a month.
